Roles
What Can You do in the Club
Programming
Help code and program the robot
Programmers are responsible for creating the code that operates the robot. They configure and maintain the phones, as well as ensure proper communication between the phones and the robot. Programming is largely responsible for testing and troubleshooting, as many problems stem from programming error s.
Fabrication
Help build the robot using different tools
Fabrication engages in the physical construction of the robot. Fabrication also finds solutions to all mechanical problems with the robot. Specifically, fabrication constructs the chassis and drive trains and scoring mechanisms. Additionally, fabrication installs all electronic hardware. They also work with raw materials to create custom parts through subtractive manufacturing.
Design
Help design the robot with CAD
Design is responsible for designing the robot using CAD and drawings to create models of the robot in all stages of construction. This allows for more accuracy and efficiency when fabrication builds the robot. Design guides fabrication through prototyping and troubleshooting. The design also works with our 3D printers to create original parts and other items, like Hazen High School keychains that we sold for a fundraiser.
Outreach
Work to help our community
Work within the community to spread STEM education, the ideals of FIRST, and fund the team through sponsorshios
